Wow! Your interpretation of these books is so deep and touching. I also love H2G2 (and all the memes associated with it), but mostly for the quirky writing style and crazy ideas. I tend to associate with Marvin the Paranoid Android, and the quote that pops to my mind most often whenever something unfavorable happens is "Funny how just when you think life can't possibly get any worse, it suddenly does." ;) I think your "Don't Panic" message is much more inspiring.
